United College, founded in 1956, is one of the three constituent Colleges of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Guided by the College motto, “Ming De Xin Min” (meaning “Make One’s Virtues Shine and Renew the People”), the College is dedicated to fostering non-formal education, allowing our students to have an all-rounded development on top of their academic studies. 

The College is situated on a beautiful campus with well-equipped facilities, including library, gymnasium, tennis court, physical fitness room, Tien Chi Microcomputer Laboratory and Creative Media Studio, etc. Currently, there are four student hostels which accommodate 1,288 students and two non-residential halls. Construction is underway for the 5^th student hostel, the Choi Kai Yau Residence, which is expected to be completed by 2025, providing an additional 250 hostel places for our students. 

The College provides a diverse array of resources to support students’ whole-person development. In 2023-2024, the total amount of scholarships, awards and financial aid reached HK$11 million, and over 1,800 awards were provided to the students. Among these opportunities, Admission Scholarships recognise outstanding academic achievements or exceptional contributions in social services, sports, or arts. Furthermore, our renowned College’s Globe-oriented Active Learning (GOAL) Programme provides ample chances for students to participate overseas exchange programme and non-local service-learning activities, complemented by the College’s scholarships and financial aid initiatives.
